Getting here from anywhere in western Queens

Three minutes' walk from the 61st Street–Woodside station — the 7 train, the Long Island Rail Road, and the Q32, Q60, Q66 and Q70 buses all stop within a block. There is metered parking on 61st Street and a short loading bay outside the door. The entrance is step-free, every examination room is on one level, and the procedure room takes a wheelchair with the door closed.

The 7 train reaches 61st Street–Woodside from Flushing in about twenty minutes, from Jackson Heights in five and from Long Island City in eight. The Long Island Rail Road stops at the same station, which makes it a straightforward trip from further out on the island, and the Q32, Q60, Q66 and Q70 all stop within a block.

The book fills in a pattern you could set a calendar by, and it is worth knowing because two of the busiest seasons are the two worst times to start certain treatments. Late spring brings everybody who has just noticed a mole while changing into summer clothes, which is the right instinct at the wrong moment — the wait is longest in May and June, and a mark that has genuinely changed should not wait for a routine slot. Autumn is when we start most phototherapy and most pigment work, because those courses want you out of strong sun and they run for months. January brings hands cracked open by cold and radiators, which is preventable and which we would rather have seen in November. If something has changed, telephone and say the word changed — that is a different appointment from a routine skin check and it is triaged differently.

Questions

Areas we serve — the questions we are asked most

Do I have to live in Woodside?

No. Most patients come from western Queens because it is close, and a fair number travel from further for a specific reason — a second opinion, patch testing, or a phototherapy course. Nothing about booking depends on your address.

How far in advance do appointments book up?

It varies by clinician and by season. Late spring is the busiest, because people notice moles when they change into summer clothes. If something on your skin has changed, telephone rather than taking the next routine slot — that is triaged differently and it should not wait weeks.

Do you offer video appointments?

For established patients following up a condition already examined here in person, yes. Not for a new lesion, a new rash, anything on a nail, anything pigmented or anything that needs to be felt — and where an appointment reaches that boundary we convert it to an in-person one rather than guess. A named diagnosis and a written plan you leave holding

Book an appointment

Pick a physician and a time from the calendar — it shows only the hours each of them genuinely has free. A new patient appointment is thirty minutes, a full skin examination forty-five, and you leave with a named diagnosis written down. If something on your skin has changed, telephone instead and say that word: it is triaged differently.
